Na film składają się rzadkie archiwalne materiały i wywiady. Eric Clapton szczerze opowiada o swojej karierze i nierzadko burzliwym, trudnym życiu osobistym.
Dodatkiem do filmu jest ścieżka muzyczna, która ukazuje się w formatach 2 CD, 4 LP i cyfrowo. Na zestaw składają się 32 przekrojowe nagrania z długiego i bogatego dorobku Erica Claptona (analogowa edycja "Life In 12 Bars" trafi do sprzedaży 20 lipca).
